Shweta Sood will talk about movement building at the grassroots and national level, discussing strategies of forming alliances with national and international networks or forums.

Dr. Sailesh Rao will highlight the overlapping problems like emergence of zoonotic viruses, antimicrobial resistance and climate change caused by Animal Agriculture practices and benefits of employing one health intersectional approach to Vegan advocacy.

ABC-AR Session- Ms. Ilona Otter will talk about successful ABC-AR programme led by WVS, and its impact on human dog conflicts. In the process, Ilona can talk about the challenges they have faced, how they have overcome those, key learnings and introduce the training for vets that they have planned.

Animals in Disaster - Mr. Hansen will explore the current disaster management policy and its implementation status, why it’s important to protect animals during disaster, how disaster management departments work at state level and district level and the role of National and State Disaster Management authorities. Pre, during and post disaster preparedness, the role animal NGOs play during a disaster and how an animal NGO can work with disaster management authorities in their area.

Jaishree Kannan will focus on stress, anxiety and eventual burnout that the Animal Welfare workers in India go through and basic techniques to manage compassion fatigue.

The aim of this session is to bring forth unique perspectives on the evolution of the present strategies and practices of the Vegan advocacy movement in India, and to highlight futuristic approaches that can be adopted at the grassroots, local and national level of this movement in the country.

Enriching our Shelters on a Shoestring Budget: How to use the limited resources that shelters have in a more imaginative manner to make them more suitable for the social, physical and psychological needs of rescued dogs. Also, for organisations working on adoption, some pointers on doing an assessment of homes while considering rehoming dogs.

Nandini:
Inspiring communities to get involved - how to get more people involved in the shelter, whether volunteers, visitors, or even tourists, and inspire the local community to get involved in the problem of caring for rescued animals. (session to be confirmed)

Ambuj is a lawyer with 17 years’ experience, practicing primarily at the Courts in New Delhi. He studied Law at National Law Institute University, Bhopal. He turned Vegan in 2018, and thus started his journey for Animals. He advises FIAPO on various Animal Welfare and Animal Rights' issues and was instrumental in filing the case challenging the provisions of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act that permit use of Animals in Circuses, before the Delhi High Court. He also supports Animal Welfare activities and Animal Rights activism in many ways through philanthropy.

Reforming the Standards of Welfare for Farmed Animals

Fish - Dr Manilal Valliyate will shed light on fish welfare and the current laws and regulations pertaining to fish welfare in India in addition to the kind of policies that should be put in place to improve fish welfare in our country.

Gauri: Farmed Hens
Farmed Hens: Gauri will be sharing the story of poultry birds, from production-oriented trait selection to housing, transport and slaughter, all of which compromise welfare at various levels. While the poultry sector is unregulated, there is much that can be done to enforce the statutes in place; the most abused species in the world needs concerted and effective action from all.

Suparna Ganguly: Suparna Ganguly will shed light on the current situation of captive elephants in the country and the faulty legal framework surrounding the essential issues of trade and transfer.

Fundrasing- Yogita Verma will talk about the sources of income available to nonprofits, the advantages and disadvantages of retail fundraising and dwell on how to develop a strategy to raise grant funding, in particular for animal protection organisations.

Volunteer Recuitment-Shalabh Sahai will share the idea behind hiring volunteers, superior approaches, aligning people's passion with organisational goals, planning and executing volunteer recruitment, important considerations and ways to assess the impact.

First aid administration- Abodh Aras will shed light on key points to be considered for the administration of First Aid on the street for stray animals based on his experiences.

Transforming Activism through Digital Advocacy-Palak Mehta will talk about transforming activism in the digital era to generate new ways of networking opportunities among NGOs, their members, activists, volunteers and followers; how digital tools allow for fast feedback from supporters, rapid surges in mobilization, making it easier to stay in contact, and sharing information about campaigns to all groups of society interested in the cause whilst building an inclusive approach for advocating veganism. Best practices for building digital advocacy and collaborating with other social justice movements to amplify animal rights movement and veganism.

Organising Committee and campaigns- Priya Chetty-Rajagopa will share her journey about she championed the cause of setting up the State Animal Welfare Board; using that as a case study to share with participants how to organize such drives and bring people together to take collective action

Leadership Development-In this session, Vivek Sharma will focus on overcoming fears, reaching out to the community and developing skills for collaboration, the target audience (predominantly) being Animal Protection Organisations, Campaign Managers, coordinators, activists and volunteers.

Vasanthi Kumar will share the importance of including humane education as a part of school curriculum and tips on creating and delivering impactful sessions.

In this session, Bharati will talk about the role of a federation in strengthening the animal protection movement as a whole, and in its individual parts. The session will cast a vision of what coordinated advocacy, unified representation, aggregated research, and collaboration can achieve, and how FIAPO sees itself in that vision of a just world for all animals.

Dr. Yamini will help us comprehend intersectionality between human rights and animal rights that would help us navigate our activism with much inclusivity and understanding of the interconnected oppressive systems at play.

Abhay Rangan will be sharing his journey and the bright idea that sparked the thought behind Goodmylk, how he wishes to scale his business and his advice for others who’d like to start/bolster their Vegan Business.
