Session Name
Breakaway Session – Reforming The Standards of Animal Welfare for Farmed Hens
Session Date & Time (IST)
29th January 2022, 12.25-1:25 PM
Session Brief
Gauri will share the story of poultry birds, from production-oriented trait selection to housing, transport and slaughter, all of which compromise welfare at various levels. While the poultry sector is unregulated, there is much that can be done to enforce the statutes in place; the most abused species in the world needs concerted and effective action from all.
